    Description

This is a nice quality 100% original 1947 Whatcom County Washington passenger vehicle plate. The F is for Whatcom Co. Starting in 1935 plates were county coded by population size.
    A for King
    B for Pierce
    C for Spokane
    D for Snohomish
    E for Yakima
    F for Whatcom
And so on and so on.
These are legal to use for 1947 and 1948. That’s because Washington never made a passenger vehicle plate for 48. The state allows you to use a year up or year down for the five window sticker years. 43,44,46,48,52
This is a raw aluminum background with painted raised letters and numbers. The green paint didn’t adhere well to the raw aluminum. You typically find 1947 plates with no green left. The plates were also very hard to see with headlights reflecting off the aluminum. So that’s why plates were changed by 1949. It has No cracks, No dents, just 2 small extra holes at the top over the 0. Its very straight and flat. Has a really cool number 1011. It has some light Oxidation on the raw aluminum. Please look at all the pictures closely they are part of the description.
