Fully Serviced ~ Sound Box ~ EXCELLENT NICKEL Plating

With 300 American Made US Steel Needles Free
This is a Nickel Plated Victor Talking Machine No.2 Soundbox-Reproducer that is suitable for most Victor Talking Machines and Victrolas. It is in excellent overall condition and perfect working order. We are including 300 Brand New US Made Steel Needles (100 Loud, 100 Medium, and 100 Soft) for your enjoyment. We guarantee your satisfaction with the quality and performance of this part. Please take your time and study the information presented here and feel free to ask questions. All of this work was performed by me, Walt Sommers, and my son, owners of Gettysburg Antique Phonographs in the Gettysburg, Pennsylvania area.
The nickel plating is excellent with light wear. The black oxide finish of the rear casting is good with typical light wear. The needle thumbscrew, mica diaphragm, balance springs and all mounting screws and nuts are original parts that work perfectly. The
diaphragm gaskets and our NEWLY ENGINEERED RUBBER TONE ARM ISOLATOR are parts that we fabricate in our shop. The tone arm isolator is a standalone part that is supple and outperforms the original part. These are NOT the hard rubber that many have seen and they are NOT bench injected goo-wads! They are properly designed and fitted parts soon to be for sale through our store.
This reproducer sounds great and we trust you will be delighted with it. It is the perfect reproducer for your Victor Talking machine or almost any floor or table model Victrola. If you have an old reproducer that buzzes like an angry hornet, or has old gaskets, a cracked diaphragm, or broken balance springs then you need us to rebuild it or trade it in on this one! All work is guaranteed for one full year.
People often ask me whether they should replace an existing reproducer that they already have with one that we are selling. Our preference as collectors is to keep original machines and their components together as much as possible and we recommend that advice to you also. But depending on how badly damaged your current reproducer is it might make good sense to replace it. As an example, compare the price of replacing your reproducer with the cost for me to rebuild it instead. Since we usually charge about for a typical rebuild which includes complete disassembly, cleaning, polishing, new diaphragm gaskets, a diaphragm if it is required, a tone arm mounting flange/gasket, and balance springs if they are needed, it may not make sense to replace it. But if your reproducer is severely rusted or damaged with broken screws, or it is so badly oxidized that it requires nickel plating, then it could wind up costing more to repair than replacing it with this one.
The Victor No.2, Exhibition and No.4 can normally interchangeable and directly fit most Victor Talking Machines and Victrolas with the exception of the Orthophonics. They can also be used with many other brands of phonographs. This reproducer would be the perfect touch for your VV-IV, VI, VIII, IX, X, XI, XIV, XVI, XVII, XVIII, VTLA and so on. This is also perfect for the 200, 300 and 400 series consoles.
The reproducer featured in this listing is as finely serviced as the very best available and we guarantee our work. Many of the reproducers and sound boxes offered on eBay, despite claims by sellers stating that their items have been professionally rebuilt, are sometimes a collection of cobbled together parts, some of which are being sold with old damaged parts. Always ask questions and study. A properly serviced Nickel Plated Exhibition or No. 2 reproducer can cost you from 5 to over 0 depending on where you shop and gold plated parts can cost in excess of 0, but we promise you that the quality of the workmanship of our services is among the very best available. We have thousands of very satisfied customers throughout the world.
I have been collecting and servicing antique phonographs, radios, and other mechanical antiques for over 40 years. My son recently started collecting and working in the shop. We might just be able to help. Dozens of very skilled people have shared their knowledge with us over the years to help us become accurate and proficient phonograph conservators. Sharing knowledge and information is part of helping this, and future, generations of owners and collectors.
